Imagine coming to Norfolk International Airport for a flight and finding a friendly face to welcome you with advice, information or assistance. What a wonderful first impression of our region that would create! That is why Norfolk Airport Authority created the Airport Ambassador Program.
Ambassador duties include welcoming and directing passengers, explaining airport facilities, assisting travelers with special needs and giving general directions in and around the airport. Overall, Ambassadors at Norfolk International Airport help provide a safe, efficient and friendly experience for passengers and visitors.
Training and Benefits
Ambassadors receive on-the-job training to familiarize themselves with the location of passenger support facilities, airport emergency procedures and functional areas of responsibility of aviation department and tenant staff. For donating their time, Norfolk Airport Authority provides complimentary parking, uniforms, light refreshments, special outings, and on-going training. But most importantly, Ambassadors receive the gratitude of those they help, the appreciation of the community and the comradery of their fellow volunteers.
